New Principal for 2017-2018 school year

We would like to congratulate Ken Meraw on being our Principal for the 2017-2018 school year!

Ken has a Bachelor of Science and Education degree from St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. He also has a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from City University in Seattle.

Ken started with Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools in 1997 and has since been a teacher in both elementary and middle schools. He has also supported students, staff and parents as Vice-Principal at St. Teresa of Avila School, Holy Family School, and École Mother Teresa Catholic School.

Ken is known for his strong sense of community and learning. His leadership style is one of empowering others while building capacity in students and staff. He has been involved in the division-wide implementation of effective technology practices. Also, Ken has presented at the Middle Years Conference in the areas of Mathematical Mindsets.

He is a member of St. Mary’s Parish and serves as an Adult Server and Eucharistic Minister. He is a mentor within our Division's Faith Formation Program and has a certificate in theological studies from Newman Theological College.
